Running back of the team Atlanta Falcons Cordarrelle Patterson was placed on injured reserve following a knee injury in Week 4. After four weeks, Patterson can now be activated from injured reserve and might play in Week 9 against the Los Angeles Chargers.
However, according to Coach Arthur Smith, the Falcons won’t decide if Patterson (knee) will play against the Chargers on Sunday until after practice on Saturday.
After the football-related injury that kept Patterson out of action, he underwent a small operation on his knee. This week, Cordarelle Patterson was spotted working out with the team, but he is still on injured reserve.
On Wednesday, Patterson went back to practice and was given the go-ahead to come off injured reserve. The Falcons aren’t yet prepared to commit (as of Friday) to putting him back on the active roster, but he appears to have avoided setbacks with the knee ailment that necessitated a small procedure in early October. If that transpires, Patterson will target the hapless Chargers defense, which has allowed a league-worst 5.7 yards per rush this year.
