Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen is once again sidelined after making a brief comeback in Week 7. Allen was unable to practice all week due to a hamstring problem that was still bothering him, and he was listed as out on the official injury report.
Allen first sustained his injury in the opening game of the season, and he hasn’t played since Week 7’s game against Seattle. He wasn’t allowed to play in that game’s second half, though. The ailment wasn’t sufficiently healed by the bye week last week.
At 1 p.m. ET on Sunday, the Chargers take on the Atlanta Falcons.
For a few weeks, the Chargers will be particularly shorthanded at wide receiver. With Mike Williams out for perhaps a month and no sign of Josh Palmer’s return, the team will be relying heavily on him. Gerald Everett, a tight end, should also receive a consistent number of targets. DeAndre Carter, who is now classified as questionable with an illness, may also anticipate playing a bigger part in the offense.
