Erling Haaland injury update before the Brentford clash

When Brentford visits the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, Dean Jones, a journalist, expects Manchester City to start Erling Haaland.

Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, confirmed this week that Haaland has not entirely recovered from ligament damage in his foot.

Due to this, the forward was not deployed as a substitute during his team’s victory over Chelsea in the Carabao Cup third round on Wednesday.

But that happened just after Haaland came off the bench to score a penalty in stoppage time to give Manchester City, who were down a man, the victory over Fulham.

The 22-year-old had to be removed from the game against his former team, Borussia Dortmund, in the Champions League group stage last month due to a foot injury and struggles to recover from a fever.

Since the Citizens defeated Brighton & Hove Albion on October 22, Haaland has not been selected in a Premier League starting lineup due to his inability to regain his previous level of fitness.
