Ohio State RB TreVeyon Henderson injury update

Unexpectedly added to the Buckeye injury report, star Ohio State tailback TreVeyon Henderson is out for Saturday’s game against Northwestern.

With 552 yards this year, Henderson is No. 2 among Ohio State’s leading rushers. With 5.8 yards gained on each carry, he has amassed six rushing touchdowns. With 16 carries, Henderson gained 78 yards and two touchdowns versus Penn State.

Henderson has reportedly been dealing with a left foot ailment for the whole of the season, so his injury is not brand-new, a source told ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg. After the game against Toledo on September 17, he was wearing a walking boot on his left foot.

Miyan Williams, Henderson’s primary backup, will be available after having only carried the ball twice against Penn State. Williams, who is averaging 6.5 yards per carry and has 10 touchdowns this season, has been a revelation for the Buckeyes.

There are two additional significant players listed on the Ohio State injury report: Cameron Brown, a cornerback, and wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Smith-Njigba will be sidelined indefinitely with a hamstring issue, and Brown will miss his third straight game.
