Raiders’ star tight end Darren Waller injury update

Darren Waller, the top tight end for the Las Vegas Raiders and a trade target at the NFL trade deadline, won’t play against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. Sunday’s game will begin at 10 a.m. PT.

Both defensive lineman rookie Neil Farrell and linebacker Divine Deablo are participating despite injuries to their wrists and backs. They were dubious to play, just like Waller.

Similar to last week, Waller was ruled out of the game after practicing on the field on Sunday morning. At tight end, Foster Moreau will once again start.

In Week 5, Waller was hurt during the opening drive against Kansas City and hasn’t played since. It has been nearly nine games since Waller hardly played against the Chiefs, and he has missed eight of the last 15 games as a result of injuries.

Prior to last Tuesday’s NFL deadline, the Green Bay Packers reportedly wanted to trade for Waller. Evidently, the Raiders demanded more than what Green Bay was prepared to give.

The Raiders also have running back Brittain Brown, linebacker Jayon Brown, lineman Jackson Barton, defensive tackle Kendal Vickers, and defensive end Tashawn Bower who are inactive in addition to Waller.
