According to sources, Saturday’s game versus Michigan featuring star Illinois tailback Chase Brown is “fine to go.”
With 1,442 yards and an average of 5.2 yards per carry, Brown leads the country in rushing and has 10 touchdowns this season.
Brown was limited in practice on Tuesday and more active on Wednesday after suffering a right leg injury against Purdue the previous week. According to sources who spoke to ESPN, Brown is fit to play for the Illini against No. 3 Michigan and was “full go” on Thursday and Friday.
The greatest player for Illinois is Brown, who will test the nation’s top-ranked Michigan run defense. The Wolverines only allow 72.7 yards per game and 2.6 yards per carry on average.
Only Brown and one other player on the Illinois roster have ever attended Michigan. He gained 34 yards on seven carries in Western Michigan’s 49-3 Big House loss in 2018 while a member of the team.
Illinois (7-3) comes into the contest on a two-game losing streak after suffering losses to Purdue and Michigan State at home. If they defeat Michigan, the Illini are still in the running for the Big Ten West title.
